One way to create the “handle,” on a mason jar May Day basket: you’ll want to slide the ribbon under the Mason jar lid. Don’t use the top of the mason jar, just the outside ring. Next you just screw it on to secure the ribbon in place.
To make a tin can May Day basket you can either leave it paperless or cover it with pretty paper. You could tie a ribbon around the top to create a loop to hang from a door handle, or you could drill a small hole on each side of the can to create a more balanced floral arrangement.
Even using a small gift bag or basket with handles would work or paper bags and fabric scraps. Revive an old tradition with a May Day basket!
